    Who is CAPC:

    The Tulare County Child Abuse Prevention Council is a private, not for profit community council whose primary purpose is to organize and oversee the community’s efforts to prevent child abuse. 

    The CAPC was organized in 1982 and has served Tulare County since.

    What CAPC does:

    • Promotes public awareness of abuse and neglect and available resources
    • Oversees services provided by public, community based and private agencies to abused and neglected children
    • Provides a forum for interagency cooperation, detection, treatment and legal processing of child abuse cases
    • Encourages and facilitates training of professionals in detection, treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect
    • Provides recommendations to the Tulare County Board of Supervisors for funding for local child abuse programs
    • Provides training for mandated child abuse reporters

    Mission Statement:

    Our mission is to provide meaningful leadership to prevent child abuse by building and maintaining community collaboration, by coordinating quality services and by educating families in the community.
